Earlier this month, the 53-year-old Ormoc City mayor made noise on social media for his bizarre work of art. Goma was one of the many artists who joined in the recent ManilArt 2019 which lasted from October 9 to October 13 at the SMX Convention Center in Taguig City.

Goma showcased some of his beloved artworks, but one painting stood up above the rest. The painting, titled "OOOOHH," attracted attention during the exhibit. It features the male organ in bright yellow paint, which stood up against a black canvas.


According to a report published in Philippine Entertainment Portal, the painting was priced at P196,000. Netizen Jayvee Araneta shared a photo of the painting on Facebook, along with the caption:

"Hello mga artist kong friends, kuha lang kayo malamig na beer jan sa ref, sisig pulutan tapos upo kayo sa tabi ko pag-usapan natin gawa ni Richard Gomez sa Manila art 2019."

Goma's bizarre work of art got many people thinking. Many people were puzzled, but some were eager to know what inspired Richard Gomez to paint a taboo object.

What could be the meaning behind his painting? In an interview, the Ormoc City Mayor revealed that the painting speaks for itself: "Self-explanatory. Given a deeper thought, it shows lust, self-pleasure and power."
