Coco Martin: Public Service ang Hatid ng "Ang Probinsyano" sa Sambayanang Pilipino

Coco Martin is one of the 11,000 employees who were affected by the ABS-CBN shutdown. On May 6, the leading broadcast network in the Philippines went off-air following an immediate cease-and-desist order from the National Telecommunication Commissions. NTC has cited ABS-CBN's expired franchise, which lapsed on May 4, 2020, for the shutdown orders.

Ever since his home network went off-air, Coco Martin has always been vocal about his sentiments on social media. Recently, the 38-year-old "Ang Probinsyano" actor took to Instagram to express his disappointment over NTC's decision. He also expressed their hard work in providing public service to the people.

According to Coco, instead of staying quiet throughout this issue, he decided to use his voice to speak out for the sake of the 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN. Following the network's shutdown, thousands of employees were also left unemployed right in the middle of the coronavirus outbreak.

"Alam kong napakahirap ng pinasok ko, pwede naman akong manahimik na lang at magsawalang-kibo, pero napakasakit sa akin na makita kong naghihirap ang aking mga kasamahan sa trabaho habang ako ay kumportableng nabubuhay."

Moreover, Coco also claimed that his show, "Ang Probinsyano," has served as a semblance of hope for the people since 2015. The director and actor also revealed their sacrifices and hard work behind the screen just to produce quality content for the masses.

"Sinusuong namin ang kahit anong kalamidad makapagbigay lang ng kaledad na palabas sa manunuod, at upang makapagbigay ng inspirasyon na lumaban sa kahit anong hamon ng buhay. Hindi lang po basta trabaho ang ginagawa namin sa likod at harap ng camera, ito ang pagseserbisyo namin sa bayan at sa lahat ng Pilipino saan mang lupalop ng mundo."
