What if you woke up one day to find out that you're royalty? For many people, this dream-like scenario only happens in movies. But for this Pinay, royalty is truly in her blood, and she found out that her father is a king! The day she discovered her identity as a princess, her entire life changed! Indeed, her life played out just like the iconic movie "Princess Diaries."

This half-Pinay's incredulous life story was featured on the international page "Humans of New York." As a young girl, the unnamed Pinay emigrated with her mother into the Philippines. They lived in rental apartments and her mother had to work hard to raise her. Right from the start, her father was out of the picture.

When she grew older, she asked her mother about the whereabouts of her father. Her mother always tells her the same thing: "He's too busy. He lives in Malaysia. And he's a king." This made her wonder as a child, was it only an excuse for her absent father?

But one day, her doubts were finally answered. Her mother wrote letters to the King, telling him about his daughter in the Philippines.

One day, they received a call from the king's people, asking them to fly to London in order to meet with the highness in person. When she was 14, they flew to London and for the first time in her life, she finally saw her father in flesh.

They had lunch in the InterContinental hotel and his father agreed to pay financial support. "I was never brought into the family. I was never fully acknowledged. Thankfully, before we left that first lunch, my mother did make one last request. She insisted that I take a photo with my father."

In the end, even though her father never introduced her into his family, this Pinay princess was more than contented. She finally closed a chapter in her life after meeting the father figure that she was searching for.
