"Anong mangyayari samin?" -Coco Martin, Emosyonal sa Pagsasara ng Home Network na ABS-CBN

Coco Martin has been making the headlines these past few weeks. The "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano" actor is one of the many people who protested against the forceful closure of ABS-CBN. On May 6, one of the leading broadcast networks in the Philippines has gone off air following an immediate cease-and-desist order from the National Telecommunications Network (NTC).

NTC cited the Kapamilya network's expired franchise to operate. Many people, most especially celebrities, cried out for the alleged injustice of NTC's order. With ABS-CBN's closure, thousands of workers also went unemployed. The giant network employs more than 11,000 workers.

In a recent interview, Coco Martin expressed his disappointment over NTC's decision. The 38-year-old actor lamented over the uncertain future of ABS-CBN's unemployed workers. Coco can barely hold his emotions during his interview on the online program:

"Tuwang-tuwa kayo na nawalan ng trabaho ang 11,000 na tao. O ngayon, kaming 11,000 na tao, anong mangyayari sa amin ngayon? Ngayon, kaming mga artista, paano namin tutulungan ang ilang pamilyang tinutulungan namin at binubuhay namin?"

Moreover, Coco also noted the sarcastic remarks of Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque. According to Coco, the government hasn't yet fulfilled its promise to the millions of Filipino families who are still relying on the social amelioration program:

"Anong sabi ni Harry Roque? 'O, pumila kayo sa DOLE. Huwag kayong mag-alala, bibigyan namin kayo ng ayuda.' E kung ang buong Pilipinas nga hindi ninyo ma-supplyan e, pati kami makikidagdag? Ano pong gagawin namin ngayon?”
