On a video published by Showbiz Bulletin, they recalled how Julia collected donations for the frontliners. On April 5, Julia Barreto encouraged her followers to donate for the emergency quarantine facilities. Together with her sister, Claudia, and Dani, they were able to raise more than Php 600,000.

On April 11, Gerald Anderson also posted that he will be helping to raise funds for emergency quarantine facility as well. Because of this, people thought that Gerald and Julia helped fund the project together. However, it was later found out that they were raising different projects.

It was way back in 2019 when Julia Barretto and Gerald Anderson became the talk of the town. Bea Alonzo, Gerald's former girlfriend, spoke up on social media after being allegedly 'ghosted' by the actor. Rumors circulated about a third party in their relationship, and all fingers are pointing at Julia Barretto.

Julia's name was dragged in the controversy after she became Gerald's leading lady in the romantic movie "Between Maybe." The two allegedly developed a deep bond while shooting in Japan, which eventually prompted Gerald to have a change of heart in his relationship with Bea.
