Nurse na Kakatapos Lang ng 12-Hour Duty, Namataang Kumakain sa Kalsada

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, our country needs more medical staff than ever in order to fight COVID-19. Medical staff and other frontliners lay their lives on the line just to help other people. Some of them are even working long hours just to take care of COVID-19 patients. Sadly, they are often underappreciated.

Because of the pandemic, many people are forgetting that frontliners are just regular people like you and me, who are also getting tired. Earlier this week, a nurse from Cagayan de Oro went viral on social media after being spotted eating outside on the streets.

The photos were shared by Facebook page CDO Dev. As seen on the circulating photos, the nurse named Desiree Dinero was spotted eating by the side of the road. According to the post, Desiree has just finished her 12-hour duty and is taking a quick break when she was photographed.

The exhausted nurse wanted to eat in a fast-food restaurant, but the food chain was not accepting any dine-in customers. The streets were deserted and there were no other people in sight, that's why Desiree decided to just take her meals on the side of the road.

According to Desiree, ever since the coronavirus pandemic blew up in the Philippines, she decided to rent a boarding house. Even though she wants to see her family, Desiree doesn't want to put her parents in danger, most especially because they are already old and are more prone to COVID-19.

Desiree's story quickly gained attention on social media. People expressed their admiration and salute to this young nurse, who is willing to make great sacrifices just to fight against COVID-19. This just goes to show that not all heroes wear cape.
