These past few months have been a rough ride for Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu. In the first week of March, the 29-year-old actress almost lost her life after being the mistaken victim of a riding-in-tandem ambush. Aside from the emotional trauma, the 'Chinita Princess' also had to go through the scrutiny of the public who were skeptical of the ambush story.

Now, several weeks after the accident, Kim Chiu is struggling with yet another controversy. As you may well remember, the 29-year-old actress was among the celebrities who expressed her dismay on the Duterte administration. Kim Chiu expressed her disappointment with the administration's response to the coronavirus pandemic.

However, it seems like not many fans were pleased with Kim Chiu's bold statement. Right after this tweet, Kim's fan base slowly dwindled, with some even calling to boycott the actress. On Facebook, a popular page claimed that the actress is losing her fan base following her controversial statement.

According to the Facebook page Layf, Kim recently uploaded a video dedicated to front liners on her Tiktok account. However, many fans left unsavory comments on her video, criticizing her lack of support for the Duterte administration.

"Kim Chiu is losing her fan base. The Kapamilya talent is on TikTok and this is what her fans are saying about her. Kim has sinced turned off the comments for her videos. Seems like another career is going down the drain."

On the other hand, some fans defended the actress from her detractors. According to them, instead of picking on Kim Chiu, the nation should just focus on what's truly important amid the coronavirus pandemic now in the Philippines.
