Charo Santos, Muntik Nang Mag-Resign Dahil sa GMA Show na Ito

Even from the start, there's always been a tough competition between the Kapamilya network and the Kapuso network. The two rivalry networks are always in stiff competition when it comes to producing top-notch shows and soap operas. And sometimes, the competition can get too though to the point that the other network will have to make tough choices.

Charo Santos is one of the most prominent figures in the Kapamilya network. She's the former ABS-CBN president and now works as the network's Chief Content Officer. Throughout her years in the industry, Charo Santos has proved her resiliency. However, even the strongest people have their own breaking point.

In her autobiography, Charo Santos revealed that there came a point in her career when she almost had to resign. In her book "My Journey: The Story of an Unexpected Leader," Charo recounted the most challenging moments of her life as a top executive in the Kapamilya network.
At one point, she was on the verge of resignation. When GMA Network rolled out their most iconic teleserye yet, "Mulawin," which stars Angel Locsin and Richard Gutierrez, ABS-CBN shows took a major downfall.

"Mulawin" quickly put them out of business, with their ratings quickly slipping. Because of this, Charo contemplated on resigning.

"Our solid hold on the Top 20 shows began to slowly slip away. Our rival, GMA 7, started to close in on the lead we had for over a decade. Tanggapin na natin na No. 2 na tayo. We became No. 2 on my watch. There was no one else to be held responsible but me."

But in the end, in spite of this devastating obstacle, the Kapamilya network managed to keep it together. According to Charo, if it wasn't for her solid team, who talked er out of resigning, Charo would have given up to the pressure.

"I decided to come back to ABS-CBN because I feel responsible for the people there, with whom I grow up. Are we really just about ratings, revenues, and profit? We are in the service of the Filipino."
