Matandang Landlady, Nanlibre na ng Upa, Namigay pa ng Pera!
The enhanced community quarantine all over Luzon has left thousands of families struggling for money. Due to the 'no work, no pay' policy, most daily wage laborers were left unemployed and struggling to meet ends. Aside from the threat of coronavirus, thousands are also burdened to pay their monthly bills, which will never stop coming in spite of the lockdown.
In a recent statement, President Rodrigo Duterte has appealed to the rentees all over the nation to consider giving a moratorium. With a moratorium, the rents will be temporarily suspended for as much as three months. After the given period, the tenants will be expected to pay the remaining balance.
Fortunately, some rentees gave their tenants a little more than consideration. On social media, more and more rentees are sharing how they gave free rent to their tenants during the enhanced community quarantine. Among them is this landlady from Meycauayan, Bulacan.
Facebook user Ryoko Montreal shared the heartwarming gesture of their landlady named Nanay Preciosa. The elderly lady rents out apartments to several families. Due to the enhanced community quarantine, Nanay Preciosa's tenants were not able to pay their rents for the month.
Instead of forcing them, Nanay Preciosa decided to give them free rents for the month of March. Canceling the rent is already a big help, but the kindhearted landlady decided to go out of her way and donate money! In the photos shared by Montreal, we can see Nanay Preciosa giving P500 bills to her lucky tenants.
On the other hand, words about Nanay Preciosa's kindness quickly spread on social media. Many netizens expressed their admiration for this kind landlady, and for the kindness she showed to other people in time of need. Here's what one netizen has to say about Nanay Preciosa:
"Kudos to you nanay! Kahit matanda ka na, mas inuna mo pa ang ibang tao. Sana lahat ng Pinoy kagaya mo at marunong sumunod at magbigay ng tulong sa iba. For sure babalik din sayo ang mga blessings na naibigay mo," wrote the netizen.
