Bongbong Marcos, Positibo sa Coronavirus Matapos ang Trip sa Europe

Former Senator Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. tested positive for COVID-19 on March 31. A few days prior, the former senator has already reported that he is feeling 'unwell.' After finally receiving the results on Tuesday, his spokesman confirmed the news that Marcos indeed tested positive for coronavirus. Marcos also had travel history.

The former vice-presidential candidate might have caught the virus during his recent travel in Europe. On March 13, Marcos arrived in the Philippines after traveling to Spain for a few days. A few days after, he was already experiencing signs of the highly-communicable disease.

Meanwhile, according to his spokesman Atty. Victor Rodriguez, Marcos is currently showing signs of fast recovery in the hospital.

He's currently getting treated at an isolation area, although the exact location was not disclosed.

"Gumaganda na ang kondisyong pangkalusugan ni dating Sen. Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos, Jr. makaraang ihayag sa resulta ng clinical test na isinagawa ng Research Institute for Tropical Medicine na siya’y positibo sa COVID-19."

Prior to his diagnosis, rumors spread on social media that the former senator will be intubated in a hospital in Taguig. However, this claim was later on corrected by his sister, Senator Imee Marcos.

In a text sent to ABS-CBN News, Sen. Marcos claimed that her brother is currently recovering at home.

"He came back from Spain unwell. Getting better at home. Finally got a test 2 nights ago, wala pang result. Nasa bahay lang po si Bongbong. Siyempre, senior na din kaya di naman naglalabas. Same with Senator Imee Marcos."

She also confirmed that their mother, former first lady Imelda Marcos, is currently in excellent health.
