VIRAL: Lola na Hindi Naabutan ang Relief Goods, Naiyak na Lang sa Panghihinayang

In an effort to stop the spread of coronavirus, President Rodrigo Duterte implemented a nationwide enhanced community quarantine in the Philippines on March 25. During this one-month period, citizens are advised to stay at their homes in order to prevent catching coronavirus. While it might be effective in containing COVID-19, the lockdown also poses a problem to many people.

For most workers who get paid on a daily basis, the quarantine means they will essentially be jobless. Because of this, thousands of people from all over the country are relying on the assistance and support from their local government units. One way of helping them is by distributing food packs.

Earlier this week, a viral video making rounds on social media broke the heart of the netizens. In the said video, an elderly woman can be seen crying after missing out on the relief goods. According to the uploader, the elderly woman can't help but cry after getting rejected by the people who were handing out the donations.

In most cases, people who were waiting for relief goods get in line the first thing in the morning. They wait in line for a few hours just to finally receive the food packs, so you can just imagine this woman's frustration after finding out that she's not eligible to receive the relief.

But there's a bright side to this story. According to the uploader of the viral video, in the end, people took pity of the elderly woman and finally gave her relief goods. It's just a shame that she needs to shed a tear first before they finally attended her needs.

On social media, many people sympathized with the old woman. Some were even eager to help her, so in the end, her video going viral has also done some good things.
