As the old saying goes, a man's true color is revealed by how he handles money. Sadly, this is true for most people, and money have already destroyed countless relationships. This farmer learned this lesson the hard way when, after winning a lottery, his relatives and close friends showed their true colors for the sake of his money.

Ernie and Vergie is a couple who came off from poor families. Even though they are not rich, the couple is blessed with their priceless treasure, their children. They want their children to have a good future, that's why Ernie and Vergie worked hard for so many years as farmers.

Every day, Ernie also bets on the lottery in the hopes of winning the jackpot prize. For him, betting on the lottery gives him a sense of hope that someday, he might be able to provide a more comfortable life for his wife and children. Until one day, his dreams came true when he hit the jackpot!

Ernie bought a lotto ticket, but since he cannot read nor write, he asked one of his relatives, Angel, to take care of it for him. After finding out that his ticket won, the winnings went to Angel's bank account, since her name was written on the ticket.

Soon enough, it became clear that Angel was not planning on giving all of the winnings to Ernie. In the end, she only ended up giving him Php 900,000 in cash. Angel and her other relatives took advantage of Ernie's winnings and were never seen again.

In the end, Ernie and his family decided to go back to their province, Bicol, to start life anew. Even though they were robbed of their fortunes, Ernie and Vergie still have their loving family. According to the couple, they found out that their relatives who took advantage of them got what was coming to them and fell ill.
