As coronavirus cases in the United States continue to surge, people are scrambling to buy supplies during a possible lockdown. Thousands are flocking to the stores to buy supplies, and face masks and hand sanitizers are particularly in-demand. However, some people are taking advantage of this situation.

With the high demand for certain supplies, price gougers have found an opportunity to earn. Some people are hoarding products like face masks and hand sanitizers in order to sell it for a much higher price. Recently, two brothers from Tennessee were apprehended for price gouging.

Brothers Noah and Matt Colvin hoarded more than 17,000 bottles of hand sanitizer. The two brothers made a lot of profit after selling the products and their 'pandemic kits' for triple the price, reaching as much as $70 each. Despite the staggering costs, their products were sold out.

Right when coronavirus cases are rising in the US, Noah drove more than 1,300 miles across Tennessee and Kentucky to buy thousands of hand sanitizers in multiple stores. His brother Matt was in charge of receiving anti-bacterial wipes and more hand sanitizers in their home.

However, Amazon soon caught wind of their price gouging and quickly removed the two brothers' listings. In addition to this, Tennessee Attorney General Herbert Slatery III also stepped in to stop price gouging during these times. The two brothers are already under investigation.

According to the attorney general, the brothers will be forced to donate the remaining hand sanitizers that they have to the local church in their area. They are also continuing their probe to apprehend more price gougers.
