Kim Chiu, May Malaking Realization Matapos Mameligro ang Buhay sa Van Shooting

Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu became the victim of a van shooting earlier on Wednesday, March 4. The 29-year-old actress was on her way to her taping around 6 in the morning. While they were driving in Katipunan Avenue, gunmen riding in motorcycles fired a total of eight shots in Kim Chiu's van.

According to Kim, she was feeling sleepy, so she laid down to take a nap. This saved her life, because if she had been reading her script upright, she would surely be hit by the bullets. All in all, Kim recalled that there were eight bullets that hit the van.

Fortunately, not one of them was hurt. Kim, her personal assistant, and her driver were not injured during the incident. Right after the incident, Kim frantically called her loved ones and told them the incident. In an interview, the actress shared the aftermath of the shooting:

"Tumawag ako na binaril 'yung kotse ko. Ang dami kong tinawagan kasi hindi ko alam anong gagawin ko. Nasa loob ako ng sasakyan, ang daming pulis sa labas. May mga MMDA na. Hindi ko na alam. After that, nag-hang ako."

Right after the incident, Kim, still shaken from the shooting, went straight ahead to her taping. During that time, her phone is flooded with hundreds of calls and texts from her worried family and friends. It took a few hours for the actress to fully process just what happened.

According to Kim, she did not know what triggered the shooting. The actress denied having bad blood with anyone. After the incident, Kim also had an epiphany about her life:

"Diyos ko, ako pa ba? Wala akong nakasamaan ng loob. Ang masasabi ko na lang, life is really precious. Kahit wala kang sakit, wala kang kasamaan ng loob. Kung natamaan ka ng balang iyon, siguro wala ka na."

As of now, investigators and Kim's personal lawyers are already at work to get to the bottom of the incident.
