It was way back in 2017 when Ellen Adarna turned her back on her flourishing showbiz career. Together with her former lover, John Lloyd Cruz, they both left the industry to spend time with one another. This also gave them the chance to get more serious with their relationship, but in the end, things did not work out for the celebrity couple.

Within those two years, Ellen and John Lloyd moved into a shared house. Ellen also became pregnant with their son, Elias Modesto. It seems like Ellen was living the good life, but just recently, the actress revealed that she was suffering from depression during those times.

On Instagram, the former actress opened up about her struggles during those times. According to Ellen, two years ago, she was trapped in a 'very dark place.' Ellen was diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

"I was just also very sad. I was in a very dark place for two years, almost three years. I thought I wasn't going to snap out of it... It was that bad."

In February, Ellen finally decided to spend some time focusing on her mental health. She flew to Bali, Indonesia to try a 14-day training with a guru. During that time, Ellen claimed that she felt calmer and more at peace with herself than ever.

"My panic attacks were really, really bad, to the point where my body would shake, and then I'd puke. It was so weird. At that time, I didn't know what it was, because I never had anxiety that serious."

On the other hand, some people claimed that Ellen might have been stressed from her relationship with actor John Lloyd Cruz. But in her 8-minute video, not once did Ellen even mentioned her former partner. Instead, she encouraged people who are suffering from mental health illnesses to seek all the help and support that they could.
