Sarah's mother, Mommy Divine, tried to delay the wedding by gate-crashing in the five-star venue at the Shangri-La, but the wedding rites still prevailed. However, Mommy Divine's intervention caused many people to wonder.

Mommy Divine's intervention raised a lot of questions from the netizens. Indeed, why was Sarah's mother so keen on preventing their wedding? Even from the start, Sarah's family has been against her relationship with Matteo, but they never opened up the reason.

For many netizens, one compelling reason that comes to mind is financial matters. According to some showbiz insiders, Sarah serves as the backbone of her family, and without her financial support, they will surely be left to fend off for themselves.

This might be possible, considering the fact that Sarah never really handles her finances. In her 15 years of career, the Popstar Royalty left all of her financial business with her mother, who was more than happy to take care of the bucks her daughter is raking in from her shows and concerts.

In an interview with PEP way back 2012, Sarah claimed that her mother is the one who's handling all of her finances. Apparently, Sarah has no say at all on where her money goes, because Mommy Divine is very hands-on with this aspect.

"Hindi pa po ako nakikialam sa pera ko. Talagang ipinagkakatiwala ko muna po kay Mommy ang lahat. Pero soon, soon po, aayusin ko rin po talaga para maging hands-on din ako sa savings ko, sa sarili kong kinikita. Mas may knowledge na rin tayo sa paghawak ng pera."
