Foreigner na Napagkamalang may Coronavirus, Nagpaliwanag na!

In the midst of the novel coronavirus outbreak, people are scrambling to look out for risks in their nearby surroundings. In the Philippines, just this week, two cases of ncov victims were already reported in Metro Manila, all of whom had a history travel in Wuhan City, Hubei province where the virus originated.

Because of the threat, many Filipinos are already fearing for their safety from this dreaded virus. Just recently, people went into a frenzy after finding an Asian man who passed out in broad daylight. Due to this ethnic roots, and the fact that he appeared sickly, people were quick to judge that he has coronavirus.

Word quickly spread about the Asian man who lay unconscious on the ground in Ermita, Manila City. On social media, many people quickly jumped to conclusions, which immediately spread panic and chaos. Good thing that the guy in the photo stepped forward to set the record straight.

According to Ermita police, the man was a Korean national who denied having contracted the coronavirus. According to the man, he passed out on the road because he was intoxicated. He also debunked the allegations that he's carrying the virus, and claims that he just woke up one day to find his photos making rounds on social media.

"Ermita Police Station Commander Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Caramoan said that the man personally appeared at the police station and informed them that he was surprised that there were photos and videos of him showing that he may have been infected by virus."

It must have been quite a night! Even if this incident caused alarm on social media, they may are happy that the man stepped forward to clear things out. So the next time you see something suspicious, before believing it, it's best to stop and think first, because you might just start a mass hysteria.
