Kris Aquino, Prinangka ang Netizen na Nagdawit sa Pangalan Niya sa ABS-CBN Shutdown

For the first time in 25 years, giant network ABS-CBN has gone off-air following the cease-and-desist order from the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC). Following its forceful shutdown, many Kapamilya stars have turned to social media to express their dismay over the shutdown of their home network. But there are others who chose to keep their silence.

Among them is "Queen of All Media" Kris Aquino. For many years, Kris has been one of the highest-paid actresses in the Kapamilya network. Her career and reputation as a host and actress has been her bread and butter for decades. But in 2016, Kris decided to take a break from the showbiz industry.

Recently, Kris Aquino's name was dragged in the ABS-CBN shutdown. One netizen tried to stir the pot by trying to elicit a reaction from Kris on Instagram. The netizen asked Kris why the ABS-CBN's franchise was not renewed during Noynoy Aquino's term. "Bakit hindi na renew ABS-CBN franchise nung time ng kapatid mo?"

To clear the matter once and for all, Kris claimed that she's not a politician to have influence over such decisions. Moreover, Kris asked the netizen to direct his condescending question to Noynoy himself.

Kris also reminded the netizen that she hasn't been a contract of ABS-CBN for a long time, ever since her contract expired on 2016. Since then, the "Queen of All Media" took a break from showbiz and television. While Kris remained prominent and relevant on social media, she has turned her back on doing any more programs.

"To refresh your memory, I haven't been a contract star of ABS-CBN since the end of January 2016. More than 4 years have passed. I am hopeful you will allow someone who has chosen to keep her silence," Kris says, further detracting herself from the issue of the ABS-CBN shutdown.
