Update sa Kalagayan ng 26-Anyos na Doktor na Nag-Agaw Buhay sa COVID-19
In the battle against COVID-19, the patients are not the only ones at risk. Thousands of caregivers and medical staff, also referred to as frontliners, lay their lives on the line to fight coronavirus. In doing so, they are also in constant contact with the infected patients, which makes them extremely vulnerable to the virus in spite of the protective gear.
Thousands of medical staff all over the world have passed away due to COVID-19. Hundreds more are still fighting for their lives, and among them is this young doctor from Quezon City. Dra. Carmina Fuentebella has spent almost two weeks in the emergency room as she battles with this highly-communicable disease.
Dr. Fuentebella is a 26-year-old resident doctor who serves at the University of Sto. Tomas Hospital. She's one of the brave doctors who risked their lives just to help contain the spread of COVID-19 in the Philippines. Unfortunately, she was also hit by the virus.
On April 13, Dr. Fuentebella's friends and family asked for support and prayers from the netizens. During this time, the young doctor was already in the intensive care unit after exhibiting severe symptoms of the virus. To help her breathe, she was also put under a ventilator.
A week after this distressing news, her family announced that Dr. Fuentebella is already recovering. On Facebook, her cousin RJ Palad revealed that she is already on her way to a complete recovery, much to the delight of the netizens who were praying for her health.
"Great news! Dr. Carmina Fuentebella is on her way to complete recovery. She is still in the hospital regaining her strength, but we are almost out of the tunnel."
In addition to that, RJ also expressed their family's overwhelming gratitude to the people who prayed for Dr. Fuentebella's speedy recovery.
"You are all blessings to the whole family. We can't thank you all enough for spiritual and emotional support. May you all be blessed and be protected by the good grace of our Lord. Let us not forget to also pray for all the people most especially the front liners."
