Iza Calzado, Aminadong Nag-Alinlangan Kung Makaka-Survive ba siya sa COVID-19

Award-winning actress Iza Calzado is one of the many celebrities who contracted COVID-19 earlier on March. After almost two weeks in the hospital, the Kapamilya actress was finally allowed to go home from the hospital last week. A few days later, Iza granted an interview to share her journey on how she successfully beat coronavirus.

According to Iza, since she has a pre-existing condition, she experienced severe symptoms of coronavirus. Prior to her diagnosis, Iza was already suffering from pneumonia. The virus attacked her lungs, to the point that Iza had to be intubated just to breathe.

During her interview, Iza revealed that she thought coronavirus would be the end of her. In the hospital, the 37-year-old actress claimed that there were times when she felt like losing her strength, especially during her exhausting blood tests round the clock.

"Is this my time? I began asking myself while in the hospital. My life as a whole, there was like a reflection of everything I’ve been through in life and what I just thought of was ‘I’ve been through so much. This is not how it’s about to end," says Iza, who was still visibly shaken from her traumatic experience.

In addition to that, Iza also has a message for the PUIs and PUMS. According to the actress, these people also experience discrimination from the public. According to Iza, what matters above all is compassion to our fellowmen.

"It almost feels like may pandidiri yong iba. Kasi, you don’t know if they’re asking kasi they’re concerned about you or they’re concerned about themselves. Both, of course, are valid. Of course, I understand. Nobody wants to get it, but it’s in how you ask the questions and I think instead of asking paulit-ulit, once is enough."
