During a vacation, most people are looking forward to having a relaxing stay in the hotel. This is the time to leave your troubles at home and enjoy the cozy sights, as well as the great accommodations of the hotel. Unfortunately, not all people have a positive experience with the hotel they've been staying at.

One of them is Richard Maitland, a netizen who shared his unforgettable experience in a popular hotel in Tagaytay. Earlier in October 2019, Richard visited Tagaytay with the hopes of taking a few days of break. After seeing the positive recommendations for Escala Hotel, he decided to stay there.


However, instead of ending his trip with a joyful note, Richard was utterly disappointed after encountering a problem with the front desk. On his viral Facebook post, Richard claimed that upon checking out, the hotel is charging him more than P7000 for 'damages.'

As seen on the video, the hotel room was flooded and the bathroom was unkempt. The hotel attendant was present and explaining why Richard was responsible for maintaining his own room during his stay. On the other hand, Richard showed the 'faulty' structure of the toilet which caused the flooding.



Escala Hotel Tagaytay charging me P7000 for the "damage kuno" of the hotel. Very clear naman na sablay yung CR nila. Gusto ko sana mag-relax at magpahinga dito kaso stressed out pala ang dala. Just sharing this bad experience sayang babalik sana ako para umulit pero parang hindi na lang."

On the other hand, people on social media were divided with this matter. Some of them sided with Richard, and claimed that the hotel should have handled this more professionally. But there are also some people who claimed that since the incident happened during Richard's stay, he should be held accountable.
