Aiko Melendez, Nagsalita Matapos Siyang Ikumpara kay Marian Rivera

Marian Rivera is one of the many celebrities who joined the online program "Gabi ng Himala: Mga Awit at Kwento." This online fundraising event features musical performances, script-reading sessions, and online discussions with many celebrities. They aim to raise money in order to donate to our frontliners during the coronavirus pandemic.

The "Kapuso Primetime Queen" performed a monologue as Elsa on "Himala." While Marian did the acting, her husband, Dingdong Dantes, was in charge of directing her interpretation. However, it seems like not all netizens were impressed with Marian's performance.

Some netizens even compared Marian's acting to the original Elsa, who was played by Aiko Melendez. One critic even tagged Aiko on the post and claimed that her acting was worthy of a Best Actress award, while Marian was simply overacting.

Aiko did not let this comment pass. The veteran actress responded to the critic and defended Marian from their unsavory comments. According to the Kapamilya star, both her and Marian have different interpretations of the role, as well as acting style.

"I beg to disagree on your comment, her attack was more on internal and based on emotions. She gave a different take on that piece which I appreciate kasi yun ang delicate kapag gagawa ka remake, so sa kanya se gave her own take on that scene," says Aiko.

In addition to that, Aiko also called the netizens to stop comparing her and Marian. She also recognized the latter's talent when it comes to her craft:

"I find it great, this is my own opinion too. Thank you for your compliment on my acting skills, that's why I should know better. Peace!"
