Mga Residente sa Misamis, Pinagkaguluhan ang Napadpad na ito sa Dalampasigan

Fishing is a lucrative livelihood in many places in the Philippines since our country is surrounded by the sea. Fishermen and their families take advantage of all the blessings and resources they can get from the ocean. Aside from livelihood, the sea also provides the most important thing to survive: food.

Earlier this week, residents from Medina, Misamis Oriental were delighted after discovering an amazing sight on the shore. Near the seawall, the residents of Purok 5, North Poblacion were astounded after seeing plenty of 'tuway' fishes in the shallow water

The school of fishes flocked in the shallow water just beneath the seawall last Thursday afternoon. Residents noticed this and immediately sprang into action. Someone pulled out a large net in order to catch the tuways, and the people worked together to pull them from the water.

With their united effort, the residents were able to pull almost 200 kilos of Tuway from the seawall! The residents considered this a 'big blessing' from the sea, especially since tuway is known as a delectable dish in their province.

What could have prompted these fishes to go into the shallow water? According to some experienced fisherman, there's no ominous premonition behind this. In fact, it's a normal and common occurrence when the smaller fishes are being chased by their predators, hence why they swim in shallow waters.

On the other hand, many netizens on social media applauded the people's unity and cooperation. Here's what one FB user has to say:

"What a great community! If it wasn't for cooperation and unity, there wouldn't be such a great catch. The people helped each other just to get this big catch. God bless the Philippines. Glory to God!"
