Turista sa Boracay, Inaresto Dahil sa Suot na 'Malaswang' String Bikini

The white sands of Boracay beach are the perfect place to relax and unwind. Every year, thousands of people come from all over the world to swim in its crystal clear waters and bask in the sun. That being said, authorities are always on the lookout for any trouble in the tourist spot.

On October 9, a Taiwanese tourist made heads turn with her swimsuit. The unnamed tourist, who was in her early 20s, was seen wearing a two-piece that was described as "literally" a string. For many people, the bikini barely covers her body.

On the said date, the tourist wore a white string bikini followed by a red bikini of the same cut the following day. Photos of the Taiwanese tourist circulated on social media, which led authorities to take action on October 10.


After the photos went viral, the Taiwanese tourist was summoned to the Boracay police station. Major Jess Baylon, police chief of Malay town, claimed that they immediately responded after some residents expressed concern on the issue:

"Several residents and tourists took photos of her on Wednesday and Thursday because of what she was wearing. It was literally a string," the police chief said in an interview with Inquirer.

The tourist defended herself by saying that she wears the same clothes back in Taiwan. Moreover, she also claimed that her clothing is "a form of expression and of feeling comfortable with her body."

On the other hand, netizens have a divided opinion on this matter. For some people, the woman's bikini was "indecent." However, other people claimed that they see nothing wrong with it, since it's still a swimsuit.
