The life of an overseas Filipino worker is not easy. Thousands of miles away from home, they work tirelessly day and night just to provide a better life for their families back in the Philippines. In spite of this, there are times when the hard work and sacrifices of these modern heroes are extremely underappreciated.

For OFWs, nothing is ever more exciting than finally coming home to their family. After many months of working abroad, they take solace in the idea of going back to their hometown for a vacation. In fact, this thought might be the only thing that sustains them during their contract.

But for overseas worker Lynne Cherrie, her vacation has been ruined because of a 'friend.' After finding out that she's going home to the Philippines, her friend requested for a lavish gift. In most cases, Cherrie is more than happy to give gifts and 'pasalubong,' but this time, her friend became a little too demanding.

The frustrated OFW shared her conversation with her 'friend' on Facebook. In their conversation, the unnamed friend sent photos of imitation designer bags, requesting Cherrie to buy it for her as a gift. Even though these bags are just imitation, they still cost a lot of bucks.

Cherrie politely refused to buy the bag, offering to give her friend another gift instead. However, it seems like her demanding 'friend' was extremely disappointed at Cherrie's refusal. In the end, she ended up blocking Cherrie after not getting what she wants.

According to Cherrie, she was deeply hurt because that woman had been her friend for more than eight years. And just for the sake of a bag, she showed her true colors and destroyed their friendship in the process.
